A Day Late and A Dollar Short! Busy and Broke for the Holidays! {Self-Care Saturday}

Self-Care Saturday - on Sunday?

YEP! I'm so swamped these days that the LAST thing I could afford was a whole day down with a headache, but that's what I ended up with. I had no choice but to spend the day taking care of myself because I couldn't even move!

'Tis the season to be super busy, and to be stressing out about spending. This year, there seem to be more deals and sales than I've ever seen before. I'm pretty sure that black Friday is now EVERY Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I've finished shopping, but I'm now to the point where I'm second guessing some of my choices and making a few returns. Yes, really!

So the struggle is to stay on track with work, blogging, etc. so that I don't fall behind, and stay on budget from now until Christmas. 17 days. How? I've been looking on-line for help! (with 5 other shopping tabs open...)

This image has been floating around Facebook and I think I'm going to print it out and tape it all over the house as a constant reminder.

Hmmm... make love or cookies? What if you want to do BOTH? That's my problem... I want it all! Love AND cookies. Good prices AND free shipping! PLUS cash back! And then more cookies.

I want to BE present AND BUY presents - because I love picking out the perfect gifts for people that I know they'll love. I want to wrap gifts and give lots of hugs. I want to send out gifts and send out peace to everyone. I want to donate food, and I know that I'll have to shop for food!

Especially when you want it all it takes a bit more work, a bit more time, and a bit more money. I know it's worth it, so I do what I can to make the most of the season. I cut corners where I need to, but for things that are important to me I go all out!

I am constantly looking for the best deals on-line, and I started using Ebates. When I'm shopping on-line, I check at Ebates for coupon codes, deals, etc. AND use the link from there to go to the website where I've found my goodies. (usually the stuff stays in your cart even if Ebates opens a new window) Not only do they have coupon codes for deals you can usually only get if you're on the email list of that company, but you get $$ back for every order. Even on amazon.com!

I have it set up so that my cash back goes straight into my Paypal account and I've gotten back just over $25 so far this month. On top of that, I get cash back from my credit card on all purchases. If you start using Ebates from clicking on a link in this post, I'll get a bonus, too, so PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!

Every little bit counts, and it all adds up. It's the same with work. It all ADDS UP. For me, the only way that I can stay on task is to make a list, check it twice, and make a new one every day. I know that there are apps for to-do lists, but I haven't found one that was as easy as ink on paper.

When I'm overwhelmed at all, I bring out that list and just do something. Being able to cross one thing off is often enough motivation to keep going and tackle the next item on the list! Plus sometimes just sitting down and writing everything down is enough to ease some of the feelings of being overwhelmed.

I found these awesome to do lists at DIY Home Sweet Home where you can print them out absolutely free. She's got a lot more printables, too, including this daily to do list that is perfect for this time of year. I love that it has a reminder for drinking WATER and a reminder to be thankful every day!

I know it's not a lot of advice, but every little bit does help. For more great tips on how to keep things sane during the holiday season, make sure that you check out my book - "Creating A Beautiful Little Christmas!" You can download the ebook here for just $2.99!
