DIY Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Bath Bombs

It's so easy to overdo it during the hot summer months. You spend just a little too much time in the hot sun.  Your natural bug spray wears off mid-hike and you come home full of mosquito bites. You have a great day at the pool, but the chlorine has completely dried out your skin.

These simple DIY Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Bath Bombs are the total solution to summer skin troubles. They are safe for the whole family to use, so you can make up a bunch and keep them on hand in case of a skin care emergency.

Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Bath Bomb Recipe

2 c baking soda
1 c citric acid
1/2 c cornstarch
1/4 c powdered milk
1/4 c ground up oatmeal
4 tsp cocoa butter
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp oil (I like coconut oil, olive oil, or almond oil)
2 tsp vanilla extract
oatmeal for "garnish"

Combine the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, powdered milk and oatmeal. Over low heat, melt the cocoa butter. (I use the microwave!) Add the honey, oil and vanilla extract. Using a blender, mix the dry and wet ingredients until they are the consistency of wet sand.

Put a tsp or so of oatmeal into the bottom of each mold so that the final bath bomb will resemble the photo above. Pack the mixture into your bath bomb molds, or you can pack it tightly into muffin tin cups. Allow to dry overnight before removing from the mold.

Store your bath bombs in a cool, dry place.

So easy, right? Your skin will feel so good that you'll want to use these every day!
